PRESS RELEASE!

THREAD Announces Vanguard New Contemporary Fashion, Art and Lifestyle Event
Nation’s leading independent fashion designer lifestyle event returns to its roots with a whole new repertoire

THREAD, the national shopping event promoting emerging designers and artists, will include San Diego in the first leg of its 2009 tour, making a stop at its original home, Wonderhaus Bakery (the old Wonderbread Bakery in East Village),

May 30-31, 2009

“San Diego was our first home for THREAD and we were looking for a way to show appreciation to the city that’s supported us over the past six years,” explains Lara Matthews, founder of THREAD “So, we’re coming back bigger and better with a lifestyle event that’s unparalleled in the San Diego market.”

The May event will include such elements as: an art and fashion bookstore presented by Subtext, musical entertainment from LA’s Agency DJs, an art show with live art being produced on site, live screen printing on organic T’s with Sezio, a styling lounge where you can reserve a personal stylist to walk the show with you, photo booths, Thread responsibly section promoting eco-fashion and sustainability, a bike park, a live plant wall created on site by Pigment Design, live and, drum roll please, free parking and lower ticket prices.

As a nod to Mother Earth, Thread will also allow you three ways to recycle your clothes at the event – donate, sell or swap – and bins will be placed throughout the event for recycling everything from cell phones to soda bottles. And, not to worry, Thread will still incorporate the emerging fashion and jewelry retailers that have won them a place in the hearts of San Diegans.

Wonderhaus Bakery is located at 171 14th Street, San Diego, CA 92101. East Village Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 if you RSVP online before the show. Entrance includes a two-hour hosted bar, magazines and parking, as well as access to everything mentioned above. Hours of the show are Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The new THREAD website is alive and in action. Be sure to check back for frequent updates or to RSVP for the show at www.threadshow.com.
