Friday Favorites -- Celebrating May Day

May Day (May 1st) is celebrated in many places around the world. The traditions and stories surrounding May Day vary from place to place. There is, however, one thing that is similar in most celebrations - the use of Flowers!

One of the most popularly known May Day traditions is to hang a basket full of spring flowers and/or other small gifts on a neighbor's doorknob. The trick is you don't want the neighbor to see you! If you get caught, you are supposed to get a kiss.

Grow Your Own Easter Grass

Grow Your Very Own Baskets!! It's the best!
Real Grass Easter Baskets - You are Just in Time!

Easter Basket
Plastic Wrap
Vermiculite (find at nursery/florist shop)
Whole Wheat Grain
Water

One week before Easter, line sides and bottom of basket with one piece of plastic wrap. Pour in vermiculite (optional: line ½ of basket with potting soil and fill remainder with vermiculite) to a level of 1-2 inches below the top of the basket rim. Sprinkle layer of wheat over the vermiculite. Pour water into the basket until barely visible beneath the wheat. Place another piece of plastic wrap loosely over the top of the wheat. Put basket in a sunny spot (not in direct sunlight). After 1 or 2 days, remove plastic wrap. Do not water again. (Optional: When wheat sprouts, place 1-3 hard boiled eggs in basket and wheat will grow around them.)

Fashion Watch -- with Joley Fisher

Joley Fisher, are you kidding me? It was a true Fashion Watch on Saturday at one of Hollywood's coolest events, Boom Boom Room. I was able to attend in conjunction with www.parentswithstyle.blogspot.com (Thank you Shanda, she will have more on this as well!).

This was the coolest opportunity to preview the latest in Hot Products for Mom's and Kids and check out what some of Hollywood's families are picking out as their top gear! We will have alot of fun featuring some of these products over the next month in our Fashion Watch and Friday Favorite Days!

Joley Fisher is all about style and class. Not to mention, her newly adopted baby is so sweet! She was having fun taking in all of the newest products and enjoying an outing with her adorable kiddos. For a while, we have been listing Eliza magazine in our favorite links, but today I just wanted to give a shout out to this wonderful magazine. It has definitely become one of our favorites. They have amazing articles on fashion trends and designers, entertainment, dining and lifestyle.
